Can't go over 4000rpm!!
Well... I attempted to clean my MAP sensor tonight. Well i pulled it out and it seemed to be fairly clean, at least compared to what it looked like when i pulled the TB and put an ATX tb on, that was all gummed up. So i took the map sensor and sprayed carb/Injector cleaner in it and let it soak for about 20 mins. Then i dumped it out and sprayed some more in it and took a couple Q-Tips and cleaned it out perdy good. Then i put it back on and i get a code 12 and code 14 CEL is on and it never was before and i step on it and it has ***** and then at 4000rpm it's like it hits a governor. It's weird...Any suggestions??? Did i ruin my MAP sensor by taking those Q tips and cleaning it out?? Thanks...
i had a buddy have that happen to him the tps was went bad u could have bumped it or when u took it off sensor now can read how far open the throttle is...guessing it could be more air than fuel u have a air\fuel meter bigger TB more air just a suggestion
Nah, cuz the TPS is on the throttle body itself. The MAP is in the center of the intake manifold. And i was cruisin right before i did this, but i think the carb cleaner and scrubbin in there with the q-tips did a number n screwed it up because i'm getting a code 14 and that's low voltage from map sensor. So tomorrow i'm headin down to the local parts store to get one, and i pray to god they have one on hand because i gotta work at 4 in the afternoon [sm=scared09.gif]
Well i guess ya live n learn, lol. Yeah i called up Napa today and carquest and carquest wanted $93 for a new map sensor, and napa wanted $69, both still too expensive but i ordered the one from napa so it BETTER be here tomorrow. The car is still driveable n everything just can't go over 4k rpm
that's no fun!!! lol.
that's no fun!!! lol.
Well Napa had to order it yesterday and the sensor came in today. $74.62 with tax!! Ouch for such a lil sensor with 6mm screws holding it in there!! O wells... lol
