if you remove your center console and your buddies and move your shifters side to side, the sts will have a shorter distance traveled
Which means you will get into the next gear quicker than your opponent, hopefully.

all you have to do is disconnect the neg side of the battery

you dont have to remove any of that....just take out the center console.....remove the 3 little nuts ontop of the shifter base.....remove the horseshoe clip on the front right side of the shifter base....pull out the rod and assembly that is held in by the clip.....pull the bushing in the cable end off of the bottom right of the shift handle....then pull it out

depending which short shifter you get make sure nothing is scrapping like it's said above

i think when i get my car finished i'm going to try to fix it

i had a question...

when i put mine on
the bottom connection for the bushing was facing hte opposite way so the shifter bushing/cable was being pulled more towards the side
is there a way to fix that or anything?
is that probably why it was hard for me to put it in reverse?

reverse was for a little while, but i got it worn in pretty good
