basically my question is the stock alt puts out 85 amps right? how many amps does the car take while running? 30???

 

ok found out it puts out 83 amps but i cant find how many the car needs to run

just the man i was thinking about stereo hook up probably this monday not sure of the exact wattage of the amp but im going by 500w rms with a couple of MA subs runnin on 2 ohms so im trying to think of how safe my system will be running the stock alternator and non optiima battery gimme about 5 hours and ill have the exact specs on the amp. oh and kinda off topic but say i have neon lights interior and exterior but i ran the power wires to my fuse panel so is it pulling more amps or how do i figure that crap

 

With 500w your will be totally fine

You wont NEED to, but itll help with dimming. 500w is only 35A

 

your stock alt. and battery can handle a big stereo....it is a good idea to have the cap though....and neon lights usually pull less then 1amp...so you could actually leave your neon lights on all nite and not worry about the car not starting in the morning

i ran a 3400 watt stereo at .33 ohms for a little over a year on the stock alt., 2 capacitors, and a farm and fleet battery with no problems at all...then i got an optime battery and it helped that much more

 

ok my dilema has changed my cuzin is gonna ship me one of 2 amps a hifonics zeus or an interfire they both push 1000w rms at 2 ohms not peak but 1000 rms still think i can do stock?
