Default RE: suspension questions

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have a related question.

My '99 R/T was pulling right. I took it to the dealer and they said I need front struts and that it would cost about $800.

Reading above, that seems too high. Is this something that is very labor intensive? When they say replace the struts are they really talking about replacing alot of things? My wife talked to them which makes me wonder if they were just trying to scam her (being a woman).

So I guess ultimately, where should I go from here? I'd like to keep my R/T in stock condition or better. But I don't want to spend a fortune.

It's been a while since I posted here, but once retired from daily driver usage, it is still going to have a rally conversion done, which means raising/softening not lowering/stiffening the suspension. It has about a year left before retiring from street use. I'd like to enjoy that year, but not blow a fortune since it is only temporary.

i paid exactly $200 for kyb-gr2 struts for my car and installed them in less than an hour. its a simple job....if you are somewhat mechanically inclined...but $800 is outrageous....thats anew engine right there...

That dealer is trying to rip you/her. It should not cost that much to replace struts unless they are replacing them with $600 Koni struts
