And I guess a pic of the test build of teh carputer sitting in the mobo box and temporarily powered by a 300w spare PSU I have. Just so im not "talking out of my ***" or "making things up"

>_<

edit: you can see the tiny keyboard there, and at the "top" part of the box that little rectangular thing is my DC-DC power supply, 160w. Startup, shutdown controller, remote delay and power off mode. I have it set so when I turn the key off, it waits 30minutes before telling the computer to shut down, and 2 hours until it turns itself off (because the computer still uses <1A of power when its off, waiting for the "on" signal from the power supply [or button on a regular computer] and this keeps it from draining it completely.) Though I could turn the computer to shut off to standby mode and my blue top optima would last approx 22 hours. But Id rather shut down when im not using it lawl.

on the receipt I "charged" myself typical installation, so if it does get stolen, ill get an upgrade (because its replacement cost + depreciation) and im getting the value for installing it again, so no loss on my part.
thats leaning towards insureance fraud

not to discourage you but, if someone wants that stuff, there gona get it, no matter where you put it, what's blocking it, how much it weighs, how many bolts holding it down or any other variable, so like you said insurance is your best bet ( although a 2-way LCD pager would be a nice heads up so at least you have a chance to catch a theif), it may not be the easiest to steal your stuff, but its not hard to steal a car, take it to a garage or a disclosed location and gut that B**** and if someone is really dirty and plotting wrong they could just get it towed from someone they know who they would cut in at least half to keep them silent.( and I know what all of you are thinking, and no Ive never done any of that but I know some people that have, I earns mine !! every sweat, tear, bruise and cut ) so watch your friends and keep your foe's closer. around here one good word of a killer system is asking to have it ripped off. but I do applaued your guts though, it takes a lot to face as much critism as you have and hold your own. Don't forget, some of the worlds greatest ideas or thoughts where at some point where ridiculed as well, Good Luck !!

What the **** are you talking about insurance fraud. I build and sell these on the side as Dark Crescent Customs. I have given many receipts for the work ive done, which includes labor, how can all this stuff be installed without labor? The receipt says Dark Crescent Customs with a total on the bottom for where it was installed. Which it was. Quit being a ***** ***got already and quit knockin on everything you see in this thread.

look at that pic, a torn apart PC inside a shoe box, hey im gonna do that so i have a carputer too
Yeah your pretty funny arent you? **** off

hes saying that since you did the labor
you didn't pay for it
THEN you said your company did it
and you still didn't pay for it

he is calling that insurance fraud
since you didn't pay for it
and said you did

And yeah a boat battery. Blue > red and has the same reserve capacity as a yellow top. Why the hell not? They are meant for deep cycles.

And sure if someone wants my stuff they can have it, im covered. Just like you when you put your alarm system on your car and the person stealing your stuff isnt an idiot. Most alarms = pop hood, cut positive wire, sound stops. Not many people carry reserve batteries around with them to make sure their alarm makes noise so your 600 dollar purchase is as good as nothing against someone who wants your stuff anyways. So no **** its a risk leaving stuff in your car, same with suitcases and backpacks, they are targets too.

A torn apart pc? Yeah because its torn apart when it was assembled there. my god

I paid for it with my time, from MY company. Its a receipt for what its worth, proof of install, and proof of purchase. Proof of install will be the receipt of mine, for my work. What are you missing here? Maybe you people have ****** up ways of doing things in the states, but thats how it works
