Q1 : did u snap the belt?? like after you bought it or did u buy it with a snapped belt
Q2 : if you snapped the belt how fast were you going when it snapped and did you continue to drive it
Q3 : if you didnt snap the belt did the seller tell you how and when it snapped

situation is probably bent valves...

Yup, by the description you've left, sounds like your valves broke with your timing belt.

They interfere with the pistons when the belt snaps or breaks. Resulting in broken ones.

Hense, an interface engine lol

You will need to have the head machined to ensure that it's flat and then replace your bent valves and maybe a piston or two.

You could swap in a used engine also and just replace the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner pulley while the engine is out of the car.

Engine is gonna run you around $1500-$3000 depending on the seller and it takes some know how to do it. You need more than just the engine...such as a NEW PCM, engine wiring harness and a 2.4 motor mount adapter for starters. Then you get into the wire splicing.

The $1500-$3000 is just for the engine...and you can try Ebay for an engine.
