I just installed some new brake pads. Wondering if the new pads put off any sort of smell? Ive been getting a occasional odor since i installed them yesterday.

 

what kind of odor, Is it a strong odor? like an oil odor? most likely its just some brake dust or the new brakes setting in good

 

yeah new brakes will usually smell for a day or so

 

Well I put new brake pads on last year and mine smelt to. But the problem wasn't that. Problem was the pads weren't letting go of the rotor. Problem still hasn't been exactly cleared up, although it stopped when I finally swapped out the evap purge solenoid.

Something to think about. Just touch your rims after driving and braking for awhile. They should be maybe warm to the touch. Mine were almost to hot to touch.
