water in trunk and rear floor
will the tail light gaskets leak water into the trunk? my pass. side the steel around the gasket is bent from taking a hit to the bumper and the gasket doesnt seal up, im thinking thats why my trunk and rear floor pan is flooded[:'(]
what happens is when it rains or you wash the car or whatever, the water runs into the little gutter you see around your trunk lid when its open.....odly enough this little gutter drains right ontop of the taillights.....my car leaks into the trunk too, but not from the taillight seals, if you remove the trunk matt from the floor behind the taillights and look to the side of the car(by the back of the wheel well by the taillights) there is actually a little vent there that goes behind the back bumper cover, there are 4 individual little rubber covers over this vent....well, when the ground is wet the tires kick up alot of water, this water gets aimed right at the vent.....
when my car goes in the garage, im gonna replace the trunk mat with a spare one i have and then silicone over the vents

my trunk leaked too...
The lights were aftermarket ones though, and the seal didnt fit as good as the stock one. My firt thought was that vent thing spud was talking about. So I tested it. I laid in the trunk while my friend poured a bucket of water on the trunk lid...and come to find out it was coming from the back of the lights ( like were they screw into). I tried some GREAT STUFF ( that foam crap for pluming and insulating), that didnt work all that well so I ended up getting pissed off enough to just get this stuff call garoilla tape (its a better version of duck tape) and the put that on the drane part like on top of the lights. Now the water runs over the back off the lights, and not down underneath the back bumper.

i had all my cross-overs in the spare tire well, that was before i knew that it leaked though......ruined all 4 of them, luckily a had plenty extra lying around
there's a seal on taillights on bad ones i get some butyl tape for windshields and make a new gasket (look at the car and lamp you'll see how it goes) make a new seal bolt the light in and you're usually good.
