Default Swapping Oil Pans

Hey Neonian's I just got an aluminum oil pan from a '98 Neon (auto) from the j/y and I was wondering if it's a straight swap on my '96 5spd that has a steel oil pan. I was thinking the pickup tube for the oil pump might be different but I dunno....... That's crazy the pans just open like it is though! All the Honda oil pans I've worked with have had a baffle to keep the oil down by the pickup at all times.

You have to swap the pickup tube also, but I'd keep the steel oil pan. It holds about 1/2 quart more.

Well....... Hmmm. I have to swap the pan because my steel one is REALLY rusty and I gotta switch it out with something. The aluminum pan only cost me $10 so I felt I should get it, I guess i'll go back and get the pickup as well. Thank a lot for the help Das.

Edit: Any comments on the no baffle thing?

Doesn't really need one, although you can buy a Mopar one or aftermarket one. I had one, which was just sold yesterday, and I liked it.

Maybe while your down there, you could consider a crank scraper. Heard good things about them.

It removes excess oil from the crank and can even add HP.
