from a "sport" to a "r/t". what is the difference and what does R/T mean?

 

R/T = Road and Track

 

i think this should be stickied up top....it sure is asked alot, so....

the r/t has:
stiffer suspension with mcpherson struts
DOHC 5-speed manual trans ONLY
color accented seats
leather wrapped steering wheel and shift ****
4 wheel disc brakes
front/rear sway bars
deeper bucket front seats
larger gas tank
r/t specific aluminum rims
8k tach
black interior panels

 

The Sport model came with every option available. The R/T came with rear disc brakes, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift ****, R/T rims, only came with DOHC and MTX, and also has stiffer springs.

r/t's can come with every option possible, but some dont

 

dont the r/ts have the 3.94 tranny?

 

yeah but if you get a dohc sport then it will too.....most of the time

 

The R/T, Sport and DOHC ACR came with the 3.94 tranny, but the R/T and ACR have the 0.81 fifth gear as opposed to the Sport's 0.72.

 

hense worse highway gas milage, but better 5th gear "get-up-and-go"
