SOHC Turbo/NOS
is forged rods/pistons, and a camshaft/camgear enough to run about 14psi on the SOHC as a daily driver?? what more else should i do before i drop this engine in my car?
to safely do it the forged pistons and rods will work.....but for 14psi i would deffinately upgrade the injectors......you dont NEED the cam gear....personally i wouldnt mess with the timing if this is the route you are gonna go.....
but anyways it should work......but i assume you know that you cant just drop it in there without upgrading the whole fuel system......like the fuel pump, pressure regulator, and return line

yea i got a walbro 255 fuel pump..and a venom fuel rail.. im looking for some fuel injectors though..still deciding on what size i should go with the injectors..any of yall know where i could get maybe some 35lb injectors for a good price?? but i don't have to do any porting to the block or the head with the mods im about to do??
the only reason i want to run only 14psi is because this neon is my only ride right now..dont want to run into any problems and be taking a cab to work ya kno...hopefully ill be gettin another ride to drive soon..
anways thanks for the info guys...hopefully i will drop this engine in within the next few weeks and post dyno results.

you dont have to do anything to the head.....but, depending on which pistons you get you might have to bore out the block.....the 8.8:1 JE pistons for a turbo motor require the block to be bored .20 over
Ring around ask lots of questions no matter what the comp ratio on pistons are now u wont know till u do a mock assemble your head may have been machined allready and block surface double check everything read lots of books you never stop learning.

id like to have that right hand drive neon
when i was considering getting my motor built i went to a local shop and they told me that to get the head resurfaced, retap all bolt holes, bore and hone, and a good internal cleaning would run about $450-$500
