my car lunges
i drive a 96 neon, automatic. when i accelerate, it doesnt go anywhere for a second or two (like it is in neutral or something) and then it lunges forward. it used to only happen if i braked to quickly. now it does it almost every time i come to a stop or if i shift. i dont know much about cars yet. please help.. thanks!
Check your tranny fluid level....I bet ya it's low. Only use Mopar ATF+3 or 4. There are some others that are supposed to meet the type 7176 specs and are: Valvoline ATF for Chrysler, Pennzoil 7176 ATF, and Quaker State 7176 ATF. Do not use Dexron/Mercon ATF in your neon.
Sometimes when I let off the gas while driving at what I think to be low RPM (no tac ;/) it starts to sorta "jump forward" and back, sorta like my car is gasping for breath, goes away when I hit the gas again. Normal or indicative of something?
