Check your tranny fluid level....I bet ya it's low. Only use Mopar ATF+3 or 4. There are some others that are supposed to meet the type 7176 specs and are: Valvoline ATF for Chrysler, Pennzoil 7176 ATF, and Quaker State 7176 ATF. Do not use Dexron/Mercon ATF in your neon.

Sometimes when I let off the gas while driving at what I think to be low RPM (no tac ;/) it starts to sorta "jump forward" and back, sorta like my car is gasping for breath, goes away when I hit the gas again. Normal or indicative of something?

kind of sounds like a slipping tranny or a tranny with burnt fluid. I would just get a new filter and fluid put in!

Wow...thats alot. When I did my last fluid and filter change with Mopar ATF+4 fluid, the total cost was about $50.

hes probably talking about hacing it done somewhere... thats about right for labor cost and all i guess a little high... its 100 here for tranny flush and 20$ for screen....

and you always check tranny fluid when hte car has ran for a while (i go for a 5 minute drive before i check it to make sure that it gets to run some gears , it warms up faster with friction and torque...
