i have a 98 dohc neon w/ a little over 160,000 miles on it and the vavlues got knocked by the pistons and bent the vaulves when the timing belt broke. all but 3 of the vaulves are good and i have had the idea of swapin the whole motor w. a srt-4 motor but i am kinda tight on money and i was wondering if it would be cheaper and easier to replace just the vaulves or the whole head?? plz help thank you

 

There not all that expensive new just got a exhaust valve aroung $11 each genuine mopar there are stainless os valves around set of 16 for $239.95

i have another question for you when i took off my exauhst manifold it was cracked were should i get a new one and which one gets the best bang for your buck??

 

Go with a short or long tube header pick one! there on howell and modern performance

 

I am thinking that if I am puttting in new valves that I am going to have to have the valve seats cut. Or am I going to be able to just put them strait in. I am figuring it would be cheaper to get a new head then buy new valves and have the valve seats cut.

you can just put the new valves in.....
as for the exhaust manifold, if it just has a hairline crack then thats normal....everyone that i have ever removed was like that...

i have a nice loaded DOHC head with 90,xxx miles on it sitting on a shelf in my garage

 

you wanna sell it, if so how much you want for it

 

those oversize valves require the head to be bored a lil bit correct?
