srt-4 is only a 5 speed.....they never made a 6 speed

i plan on pulling down the boot....i was thinking of it when i put it on and realized that i didnt like how the boot looked, i was thinking of painting the handle red....but probally not

the clutch is just a stage 1.....got it from ebay, 220.00 shipped so i thought it sounded like a good idea

i like the shift **** and it isnt like the one that MPX sells that looks like the srt4 **** but has the set screw, the actual srt4 **** is a push on and has a retaining clip in it...but it only took a minuite to grind a flat spot on the handle and then cut a little groove in it

i will put up more pics tonite because i hope to have most of the motor back together, then start on the rest of the turbo and gauges

 

My bad, I was thinking of the RSX Type-S tranny.<---My nephew has me reading alot about those right now.

 

i wish i had a 6-speed[:@]
maybe one day when i get a STI, then i can have my 6 speed

how did you manage to get an srt4 confused with a RSX???

 

I have been doing so much reading on the RSX Type-S swap into a plain RSX and kept reading about the 6-spd tranny they have. It kind of just stuck with me, I guess.

I thought I was crazy and missed that rather large detail in your swap...Thank God I am not losing my mind yet!!!

Please show how you modified the srt4 ****!!!

 

which large detail?????

if i can get the **** off of there i will take a pic and show you....but i didnt modify the ****, just the handle....first i had to grind the front of the handle flat...then i took a dremel and cut i little groove in the top front of the handle about 1/8th inch from the top......though it took a couple tries to get the notch right where it needed to be

the **** is on there pretty tight now, i put it on for a trial and had to almost beat it off with a hammer

 

when the other guy started talkin about a 6 speed tranny, that you are FAR from needing...that large detail!

 

o i think i got ya now.....but im not completely sure[&:]

 

ok i got some more pics today...
one is of how much room i have between the turbo and the firewall..
there is another of the motor as its been assembled a little more....
one of the front bumper again, but with the intercooler lowered a bit
and the gauge pod after i installed it and painted the front...
and one of the drain fitting in the oil pan

the only problem that i have came accross so far is that the upstream 02 sensor wires need to be extended about 4 inches because the stock srt4 02 housing has the 02 sensor port on the opposite side of the pipe then the stock neons...
