What is the correct gap? use DELCO sparks. 0.035" or 0,35" - 0,88mm or 0,8mm.

You can also look on the underside of your hood. There should be a piece of paper glued to it. Has a bunch of specifications of your car including gap size.

Ive always known this to be a mechanics little trick, it takes some patience and its not really worth it IMO, but I usually do it when im bored anyways. Adjust the gap 0.005 at a time going larger each time. That means pulling all 4 plugs out, regapping them a little and putting them back in. You want the LARGEST possible gap you can go without getting any misfires. On my neon its 0.047, but they are at 0.045 just to be safe. All this does is make the spark just a little bigger. Its too bad we have coil packs on these cars, all my cars Ive had with ignition coil + distributor ive hooked up a 2nd stock coil aswell, wired both ends together with a .... 1way resistor, whatever those things are called where current can only flow one way. And I was able to get gaps as high as 0.080, once you get that big it seems you gain a little low end torque. I didnt notice any difference on my neon however, it just seems like a more efficient use of the coil pack.

 

Wouldn't a bigger gap create more heat, and easier for it to blow out?
