hense auto and manual tranny
I know some people CAN manually shift their auto's but the neon tranny DOES NOT LIKE IT.

i can vouch for what's been said already. With neon auto tranny, you only have Rev, Drive and Park. Once, because of slippery roads, i made a mistake of selecting 1. And that's where it stayed for 2 weeks until i finally managed to knock it out

Find a steep hill and start rolling down. Once you pick up enough speed and get close to shift point, (for 1-2 it's about 30-35km/hr, for 2-3 i think it 80 or so), start carefully and persistently revving the engine. It should roll over into next gear good luck with these dumb trannys of ours.

the auto trannys in the neons are more durable then the manuals.....and atleast in the autos you cant as easily drop it into..o say, 2nd at 90 mph instead of goin into 4th
