need some major help
I think my linkage or something in my transmission if screwed up because drivin down the road the other dayi went to go into second from third and the lil button wouldn't push in and then it started stickin. so i made it home in second , got turned around in the driveway and then it got stuck in third and i finally coaxed it to go into neutral and now i have it in park but i can't get it to slide past reverse. Anyone have this problem or could tell me what has happened and how to fix it?
Interlock locks the shifter into park when the key is set to lock or Acc. Maybe it's not disengaging, but it's probably more likely to be a shifter cable issue? Though a busted shifter cable might be more like shifting through everything easily but never leaving park. Which leaves you with transmission-related things.
Edit: Might as well start with the obvious. Fluid levels, fluid condition sort of thing. Leaks to crankcase?
When you say going from 2nd to third it sounds like MTX but you mention a "little button" which makes it sound more like ATX. When you say 2 to third I take it you mean 2 to D?

ok, so you were downshifting in the auto and it messed up???? do you manually shift the gears alot???? if you do then thats probally what the cause of the problem is....you might of just messed up the tranny, autos are ment to automatically change gears, not always manually
