decided to work on my lunch break today (only 1 hour) so i took the valve cover off, sand blasted it, gave her a bath in solvent, dried it, and painted it the same as the intake mani. removed the hahn mani cause i made a bolt break.[:@]installed the heater core lines on the block and the lower radiator hose connection. all that is left is the alternator bracket with the alt, attach the tranny, motor mounts, and slap it back in and finish the radiator mod and intercooler mounts.

i overtightened 1 single bolt, snapped the head off, dammit!!!

i chose yellow because of3 reasons:

1: it is very bright and obnoxios
2: something out of the norm and easy to see any leaks or faulty workmanship on my behalf
3: this is my "test" motor if you will. i get to learn on this stock internally built engine so i can make mistakes, blow it up, ect without having to worry about anything while i build my other block during the summer.

dont get me wrong i like the idea, the more bright the motor the easier it is to work on becouse its not dark. your setup is much like mine and ill tell ya one of the things your gonna want to do is keep the heat down, trust me it will become your biggest issue to keep that bastered cold

fixed the broken bolt, finished the manifold mounting, finally.

old abs unit removed, notice that the lines from the master cylinder are left on, this makes for an easier removal.

side of the abs unit with the 4 lines running out of it. notice the two lines with the proport valves on it, those are for the rear wheels. they are both the same size fitting, on the front wheel lines, there is one smaller than the others.

other side of the abs unit, no lines.

non abs master cylinder, notice how two lines are on the right side of the engine bay ( for the reaR wheels with the proport valves) and the other side has just two bare lines (for the front wheels)

again, one fitting is smaller than the other for the front wheels, larger one is toward the firewall, this is for the drivers front wheel. you can remove the front wheels brake lines from the non abs neon and put them on the abs neon with no problems, i opted to rebend the drivers front line to fit because my other neon in the yard had this line cut. see below...

i did use the passenger front line off the non-abs car for my car.

passenger front abs line removed.^^^

passenger non-abs line installed, direct bolt in no modding.^^^

thats what i was thinking! lol.

mounted my radiator to its new home today with custom brackets, also the fan, and, i made some core support supports that tie in the core support to the "frame" a little better. neons are notorious for ripping the core support when using a solid front motor mount. used 1.5 inch suare tubing, went off the frame 4 inches with one piece, then down 3.5 inches to the core support, then made a corner piece to tie in those back to the frame. duplicated it on the other side. i will get pics up of that and the radiator as well.

keep the comments comming, i like hearing ideas that are worth it!
