There are 2.2 stroker kits available from Howell Automotive. A 2.2 engine would physically fit, but you'd be on your own with wiring, mounts and whatnot. You can swap in a 2.4 from a PT cruiser or Stratus.

Hey DAS,

Can you bolt in a 2.4L engine from a PT or Stratus into a Neon with No Mods?
how much different does a 2.4 look from a 2.0?
Is that the SOHC or DOHC?
Would you use a Neon PCM or a PT/Stratus PCM?

You need a side engine mount adapter and need to splice a few sensors in.

The valve cover is the biggest difference.

2.4L DOHC

Neon PCM or Mopar Performance PCM.

Thanks for the Link!

Very useful info.

but I don't think that is how they are beating me in the straight aways - too many Mods

Putting my Neon side by side with the other Neons - every thing looks identical!

alright DAS

You know your stuff about Neon's

Whats the Scoop on the 2.2 Stroker?

What is different on the Stroker from a stock SOHC or DOHC?

What kind of HP would you get a stock engine SOHC, DOHC, Stroker?

Why have you never mention a Stroker with all of my PM's and purchases from you?

CLICK ME for 2.2 stroker kits. I don't know alot about them, but I know they are available.

You can get them from Howell Automotive but I am not a big fan of their customer service (as well as alot of people I know), so buy at your own risk.

Wow - I depend on you for an Answer to all of my Neon Questions - I am amazed this one - You and a few other folks on here are key to getting the right answer regarding Neon Setup

I would have guessed you had messed with the Stroker Engine. I am hearing a lot of mixed feelings on the Stroker - I hear it has some nice low end HP - but lacks it on the Top End.
