It all depends on the driver, I guess. are you trying to gloat on a DODGE FORUM!! Why dont you just race the dude and get it over with. !!!

Im sure there are plenty of people here who would like to race ya
When Did I try and gloat on here. And im not racing him you idiot. He keeps saying he has fullexhuast and a "tune" and hes making 200hp. He goes on to say he is runnign with SS coblats and s2000. This spawned a larger arguement on another forum and so I figured I would come here since you guys obviously have a more central knowledge of these cars.

noone said there overrated however horsepower is. my car is turbo much like a supercharger if you got a n/a neon anywhere close to me on hp it would thrash me. forced induction cars develop lots of power for short periods of time. i had my last n/a loss beat by over 100hp and still got beat. the cobalt ss is a hot lookin car but they run very close with r/t.
Once again their hp is actually underated. Let me show you.

That is a COMPLETELY stock S/C SS. Yall may be thingk of the non S/C SS.

About the parted I bolded. BULL ****. A car performs and develops power dependant on how it is built. Some turbo equipped vehicles kick in late and have great high end power but you can use diiferent sized turboes and develop you power more evenly across the RPM band.

Ever heard of twin charging. Using a Roots type blower for great low end response and a turbo to really kick it up when the blower is out of its range. Thats an FI setup that makes power EVERYWHERE.

Furthermore some N/A vehicles develop power for short times. Have you ever driven an S2000. NOthin, nothin, nothing, nothin and then Vtec kicks on for a few thousand rpms and its screams and pulls.

Many classic domestic V8s would absolutely destroy pavement with their low end torque and weeze and run out of breath up top.

An engines power band is dependant on how it is built. There are many N/A and FI setups that make good power everywhere and jsut as many N/A and FI setups that only make power in a certain part of the RPM band.

Im sorry if a N/A car with 100 less hp is beating you. It sounds like you need to rethink or tweak your setup.

James? lol fullbuilt this almost is like that guy on the Honda forum...but your nicer Enthusiast lol...now then his point about the 200HP with just an exhaust... thats a no no... heck if my car would make 200HP by just buying that 200 and something dollar dynomax off modern. i would do it lol... that would be... 68HP gain rather cheaply... just out of curoisity.... is his Neon a 5-speed? if so i think it could keep up with the SS, the S2000.... even though it has roughly the same HP as the SS its rear wheel drive... so hmmm.... i think we all should just race lol... ok i'm shutting up now.

Sorry if I came off that way but ignorant people should just the hell up and not spread their misinformation across noobs who havent learned yet and are impressionable. Ignorance just breeds more ignorance. Its so frustrating when your trying to get some good info and retards go about spewing what they think to be fact. It gets me a little angry but sorry.

So yall think a 140hp 5speed neon will run with a 240hp s2000 or 205+hp Cobalt ss. (I just used crank hp for ease.)

don't even talk about the s2000
a stock neon will NOT beat it
even the dohc
won't even stand a chance

even if you put all the bolt ons (header, exhaust, udp, ecu)
no...hahaha
with a SOHC you might be pushin 150 to the wheels IF YOU'RE LUCKY
DOHC just had whatever the diff is and not to be cocky lets just say around 15whp

if someone can prove me wrong then go right ahead!
i would love to see a bolt on neon keep up with an s200

but i highly doubt it would even be close

The 2007 S2000 HP is 7800 RPM and 162 ft/lbs of torque @ 6800RPM. It would still win, but might not be by that much. And also look at the price difference.

99 DOHC R/T - $2500-$4500
07 S2000 - $34,250
