So, I have had my neon for almost 2 years. I bought it used, timing belt went out. needless to say had to replace the cylinder head, timing belt and waterpump. Everything was put back together. Now my problem is it won't let me get past 4k RPM when in gear. In neutral or with the clutch in it revs fine. I talked to a friend who is supposedly a mechanic, his explanation was that since the vehicle was converted from automatic to stick there might be a sensor there that is screwing with the ECM. Any ideas on how to eliminate the problem? I kinda hate it when the boost starts to build up and then at 4k RPM it feels like I lose gas.
OK, I'll give that a go, hopefully it'll do the trick. I've had the car sitting for a while, so I guess this is the price you pay. By the the way, yes it has a turbo. Boosted to 17psi, stage 2 clutch, and other little mods here and there.
