I have a 95 neon, and I can't get the center console over my parking brake handle. I have this book here, that tells me that I need to completely raise my parking brake. I have tried this, but my parking brake only raises about halfway before it locks tight. Am I doing something wrong?

Wiggle it out. It will come out, just takes some finesse.

 

yeah i just give mine a good yank......putting it back in is more of a pain though

 

try putting the shifter all the way down (toward the p brake)

 

So, no really good way to raise the parking brake, because yanking on it ain't working...

 

come on, put some *** into it. You aint going to hurt the console. It took a while for me, but after some elbow grease it popped right off.

 

gettin a console out is a pain in the buttox ..u gotts to pull that e-brake up until it can go up no more.....make sure your seatbelts are out of the way---that may prevent it from coming out. pull it up as far as you can from the back of the console.....then wiggle it out...it may take some time but dont get aggravated..WOOOOOOSAAAAAAH! lol

PS: I got it out, I had to pull the handle up a bit more(had to use two hands) , then pulled like a maniac. I have no clue how I will get it back, but oh well. It looks styling without the center console.
