i agree, but it also depends on what he wants to run and what is goals are. personally, if your only going to run 7-10 psi of boost, on built internals, stock compression or even a little higher would be fine. would be a rocket off the line with "higher" compression, and would be a screamer when boost hits in. it is all equivilant to what your goals are tho, if your wanting to run 20 psi of boost, the above post is what you need. low boost + somewhat high compression = a good thing as well.

eagle rods, je pistons, ect ect and the 8.8-1 compression .02 bore then. modernperformance sells a pretty nice kit for the bottom end rebuild with whatever piston size you want.

personal prefference to me, but i think that you should make as much power with the engine that came with the car, however, from your standpoint, and the way that everyone is heading on neons, 2.4 is the way to go. now, with that in mind, a better alternative would be the srt engine and trans swap since you are going turbo, and 2.4, you could be happy with that setup and once the upgrades are needed, build that motorstock srt engine will hold ~500whp before you will need to build the bottom end.

Megasquirt isn't a great idea for first time turbo people, but it can be done. If you want to learn about turbo's and how to build them, your first $25 should be spent on a book called Maximum Boost by Corky Bell <-----A MUST READ!!
