Well...I got more info.Last night my car was running like puke again.I drove it about 40 miles into town, stopped at a gas station.I looked under the car, and I could see my cat convertor glowing red on one side.[:-]
I was calling and asking everyone for their opinions.I thought maybe the muffler or something was clogged...but I felt muffler and it was very free flowing.Another friend told me that if my cat was glowing red, I was using to much fuel, or dumping fuel thru without burning it completely.

I then drove to a diff friends house, where he brought out this tester, that you hook one end to your coil pack, and 1 end to the spark plug wire, then start the car.This tester lit up everytime it sparked, so you could see you were getting spark.Problem was, the thing barely lit up.I tested another prong to make sure...same thing...then I put it on a 3rd prong, and it lit up much more solid....

Soooo....I gotta believe I have a bad coil pack.....I believe the pcm sends the coil pack a low voltage signal, then the coil pack amplifies that signal to create my spark.So I dont think it could be anything else.....

Im gonna try my hardest to get a coil pack today....wish me luck....

Good luck,check your wires -as thats what my car was doing with a bad wire.Also might be worth checking engine to frame & chasis ground wires,as mine were weak after 8 yrs or so.(better ground =better spark)

 

Well...it ended up being a bad coil pack.My car broke down on me on way to auto parts store..or so I thought.I bought a new coil, went to put it in, and the new coil pack I bought had a different plug than the old one had, no way it would work..This is after I took 5 minutes explaining to auto parts clerk that the 95-96.5 had different plugs than 96.5 on up.Luckily the parts store was open on new years day, and I was able to get a different coil, that had a wire adaptor on it.Not really an adaptor, more like 3 wires sticking out, and once again dodge makes me cut wires on my car.>< I put new coil in, and the car still didnt start...at this point Im remembering that when it was running rough, it was also sucking gas like it was a v12.Enough to make my cat turn cherry red.I turned key over, and my gas gauge did not move up at all..+the car died on an upward hill.I managed to borrow gas can from a station, and after I put gas in it, it fired right up...) This is where it gets a lil funny....My friend installed the coil pack, and I did the wires to the coil pack....he shut the hood, but did not latch it.He asked me at one point If I wanted it latched, and I told him no, cause I wanted to make sure no tools where in the way or sitting around engine, before I shut all the way.Thinking back, If it was me, I would have shut it all the way, never just lower the hood....anyways, I got up to about 55 or so...and BAM....my hood is up into my windshield...I didnt panic and swerve 8 lanes like a woman prolly would have....I calmly looked down between the gap in middle of car, where I could see some, and pulled over.It bent the **** outta my hood....I had to bend it back into shape, cause it was nowhere near closing after that....


Car runs fanastic again though...so...Ill have to find a neon my color in junk yard for a few extra parts now..Thanks again for all the help.. Ill try and return favor to other posters with problems.
