Default new head?

Hey guys i just got an idea but i dont know if it would be worth doing since i'm going to be overhauling my engine whenever it finally blows but anyways. would either buying a used head w/ everything or should i just wait for my engine to finally let go and replace everything then?

P.S. sry if this seems like a really stupid question but its almost 2 and i am dead tired so i cant really think lol

that depends on how the motor goes. if it actualy blows and not just seize you could do domage to the head. but i dont see you producing the kind of power to breack a rod yet. if you want i can build a head for you

I'd buy a used head and have it ready.

I would buy both if you think something really bad is gonna hapen ie. broken rode, melt a piston. Then buy both and also how much down time you can have. Like I have two cars so down time is no problem my 2gn is gonna be down for the next 6-8 months for some improvements

but i dont see you producing the kind of power to breack a rod yet.
i broke a rod on my old r/t....and all i had was a header and CAI

when i broke the rod i was doin about 115mph.....so the part of the rod that was still on the crank took pretty good sized chunks out of my block..and then it pushed the piston(what was left) up into my head...ended up breaking 1 valve completely off and bent the other 3.....then it knocked off one of my rockers....so the rocker put big grooves in my cam.....of course i dont think it helped driving it 6 miles home.....
so it all depends, your motor might get messed up, or it might not....just have to wait and see...
but it would suck to buy a new head, put it on the car, and then break a rod and end up ruining the new head
