Default OVERHEATING ?

hey guys ... i have 98 dodge neon R/T And i love it ! okay ... im having a prob with over heating ? i Flushed the System ... Checked the Thermostat ... thats okay ... BRAND NEW Coolent Temp Sensor ? Good heater Core .... And good Water pump ? now dose ne one have any idea ? whats going on ? the only thing that happend was the Ground For the Starter Came off ? Car still Starts ? Could that have ne thing to do with it ? Bad Cluster Gauge ? Also i get a Code for EGR valve now that wouldnt have ne thing to do with it ? i dont think ? thats only for emissions .. i thought ? Well thanks alot guys !

take off the oil cap and what do you see? if its just oil i dont know. but if you see some kind of green gunk then it might be your headgasket.and im sorry if it is. is your radiator fan spinning? is your radiator fan relay working? your check engine light would be on if it was your radiator fan relay.

Fans Are kicking on As soon as over heats ... And stay on ? im BAFFELED ...

Head Gasket is Brand new ... only 30,000 miles on Engine and maybe 500miles on the Gasket ?

had the same thing on my 96, drove me nutz. turns out the fins on the radiator were falling out at the bottom, was hard to see with the fan in place, but that was it with me, worth taking a look. i got lucky and had a buddy who had just scraped his neon with a new one in it and was still in the car by the time i got to the yard

Yea ive gone through the bad radiator thing with about 8 different neons. If the fins are falling out, get a new one. If the radiator tank on top feels hot but you get cold air from the fans thats most likely it. both of my neons have done it. and lots of others ive worked on. I got mine new ones from napa. aluminum core /plastic tank. they cool better than the stock copper ones and werent too expensive.
