Default What do yall think

Hey guys im new to the dodge thing and im looking at pickinjg up a 95 neon but its got some issues. 2-3 yrs ago the kid was moving it through his front yard and hit his tranny ona rock and its been sitting since, i looked at it and went to move the shifter(its an automatic) and it just flops around like its not hooked, the tranny had fluid in it (i think) and the motor oil was clean minus a lil condinsation on the stick. he said it dont run but im thinking that its probably the neutral safty switch. the car is in good shape, its got some custom graphics, strut tower brace thing, 16in rims, muffler, spoiler, and custom(spray painted)interior pieces. i can pick up the car for $75+tow($50) only other problem is the title situation, they said they have "paper work" to get it.

Im just looking for input from you guys on waht could be up with the tranny and the whole thing and ifyou think i should get it

if your any good with awrench this is a real easy car to work on so its exsisting problams shouldt be hard. however one of the big issues people have on this site is they buy an auto then realize they wanted a manual. its a good car with as much options and tricks as the civic. at that price get it.

Sounds good, yeah i know how to turn a wrench, in my spare time i build fast cars and big trucks, BUT its all old school carbed domestic rear wheel drive cars. The ONLY thing they have in common with the neon is 4 wheels.
Besides the bad gas, what other issues could there be with getting it running.
also i know nothing about FWD what all do you guys think could have happened to that tranny, just a broke linkage or somthin inside. like i said befor i dont think its leaking any fluid.
and las how hard is it to swap trannys in that car?

Not as difficult as you think. Read the link provided and see for yourself.

Don't pay attention to the pricing, it can be done cheaper than that.

might just be a good idea to look under the car and find out......
you do need to find out what kind of "paperwork" the car will have...otherwise it might not be worth it anyways

you could get a bill of saled from the state.like i no in CT they have a bill of sales form,i think you can even get it from the internet,or go to the dmv or city hall.its if a car has no title then with this its ofically urs.then i guess u gotta go and jst register your car,and they will give u a new title.

I had to go to court and file for a lost title on an old car back in 95 or somewhere around there. Wasn't fun, but I got it.
