95' MTX neon jurking and cutting out.
Ok, the story is my friend has a 95' MTX 4 door. Had the car about 6 months and all the sudden it starts jurking like its cutting out and the gauges shut out and come back on and go crazy. We can't figger out what it is. We need to fix it ASAP. Anyone know what it is or have any ideas?
i will say battery or alternator. the voltage gets too low and the tps freaks out and starts giving false readings. if your guages are doing funny things at the same time, it is a good sign that it is the battery/alternator.

sounds like a bad ground...same thing happened to me, I was turnin into a parking lot an dint notice that the road an the parkin lot werent level I dunno why (no I dint run over a curb)an I was goin into it fast. so I parked picked up my thing an went bak as I left the gauges an engine was doin the same thing, gauges would shut off an the engine would start goin nuts. so I parked to the side an turned off the car an started it bak up an it was fine.when I got homeI found out since I moved my battery to the trunk the ground was still loose.
Mine did pretty much the same thing when my battery went bad. It was running fine and I had just shut it down. 10 minutes later it had to be boosted to start and when the booster cables were removed it wanted to die. I managed to limp it home gauges jumping and the engine stumbling. I tried charging the battery but it wouldn’t hold a charge. A new battery solved the problem.
def. sounds like a ground somewhere like D. said. also make sure on the battery that the terminals are securly down. on my Neon whenever i take them off i have to clamp them shut to make sure that they stay connected.
