Question????? PLEASE HELP!!
Im in the process of switching over my 95 SOHC to a 97 DOHC..I was on here before a little earlier and asked if there was anything I needed to do the swap. One said pass. side mount and header which I knew about the header.. But what about the electrical harnesses?? I know I needed the engine harness but I didnt know I needed the electrical one now I'm running into delays..Is there anything else anyone can think of that I may need so I can get it while the engine is still out...Thanks

Im talking about the electrical harness that runs under the dash and from the fuse box..
Im talking about the electrical harness that runs under the dash and from the fuse box..
so how is everything on the inside gonna work?? because the pcm's are different which im pretty sure you know...If it doesnt plug up I'll have a connector just hanging in the engine bay...
then there will be a connector not plugged in though..Do you think the passenger side mount is different from the SOHC mount?? I've been told that it is..I'm gonna try what you said though thanks for the info !!!

the mount bracket that hooks to the motor is different...but not the mount that bolts to the car.....
the wire harness that goes into the car is different......95's have the singe wide plug and the 97 will have 2 smaller plugs.....
you will run into some problems since the engine harness for the 95 has different sensor plugs then the 97....you cant swap the intake manifolds, so that isnt a fix to the harness problem........
if the motor was a dohc out of a 95 then you could use your motor harness....then you would also be able to use the car harness......but it isnt so you cant.....you would be able to swap over all the sensors...but the 97's have the map and iat sensors together...95's have separate sensors..so thats outta the question.....sorry im just brain storming
the only way i can think of is to either find the car harness for a 97-99 car......or find an engine wire harness for a 95 dohc motor.....swapping the car harness isnt bad because most of the plugs inside the car are right under the driverside of the dash....there is maybe 10 plugs there.....
thats the only problem with swapping early years......they just dont match
i have a car harness from a 98 that would work.....but i dont know exactly where its at[&:]
