It's better to replace the sender with an aftermarket one.

the oil light wont come on when the sender is remover becuase it ground out on the block......no ground, no light.....

i made the T fitting i have so that i could put my oil feed line in one outlet, and the autometer oil sending unit in the other...then it just screws into the stock loaction on the block.....
chances are you will have to get a simlar adapter for the aftermarket sender....since the thread pattern should be different then the stock one

Some aftermarket oil senders do fit right in with no problems.
