Default engine comp.

i would like to get opinions on the motor ihad built. its a 2.0L sohc, bored and honed .030 with keith black pistons 10.4:1 comp and hastings file fit rings, reconditoned crank and rods. as for the cylinder head, decked .010 5 angle valve job, standard size valves, crane #10 cam with crane valve springs and retainers. i was told by a few guys i work with that i should see around 200 hp at the wheels, can anyone tell me it they are full of it or they are actually pretty close.

thanks
adam

if i was gonna build a motor like that, then i would of deffinately got a #14

the motor doesnt sound bad, but i dont think i can see you getting a little under 100hp increase from it

i would have but my engine builder told me not to because the #14 cam he said wouldnt let me idle very nice and the other thing we looked at which i feel is often over looked is lobe separation...thats a big deal the #10 cam has a 106 lobe sep. that should give me an incredible advantage out of the hole.

only way to tell about how much you really have, and then we can probably help you better from there.

If you go with the Crane#10, you will regret it later on. A Crane #14's idle can be smooth if tuned correctly.
