Default SOHC Air Duct

Does anyone have any info on whether or not modifying the air duct will work as a cheap ram air? Im thinking about buying an air duct off a salvaged Neon and testing this theory out by cutting away the front part of the duct and sticking it back on.

You sure, cause all I am doing is taking a Dremel and cutting off the front part of the duct so it goes in the front and not the side

Unless you are moving the air filter to the front lower part of the engine, it's not worth the time. All you will get is a dirtier air filter quicker.

I had that setup for like a day until i got the rest of my tubing, you'll see a little gain, and a little better sound.
