you may be able to polish the crank with some emory cloth if the gouges arnt bad.

i took off the oil pan and checked the rods......the #1 rod had about 1/4 inch of play in it[&:]

lol i missed that part, #1 rod is the one that AWLAYS lets go in the 420a.
Ive blown up 3, and seen 5 or 6 blown up, every one of them was #1 rod

NO ****! lol my friends piston had a little piece missing from it on the side wall of the piston... #1... its a conspiracy guys... get the hellout while you can! lol jk stay in! its cold out there! but seriously what makes number 1 go??? its the tao coming back to haunt us i bet.

If im thinking right ..(i might be wrong ill have to double check)..#1 is actually the last rod to get oil the way it goes through the block from the pump. in the race cars its hard cornering and oil starvation that causes it, i figure basically the same in a street car. They all seem to get a little less oil there, last one to get oiled on startup, if you pickup air from it being low that one will run without the longestso that one will natrually wear before the rest.
My race car's new engine has 60 Psi oil pressure just cranking over cold, and i made a trap door / baffle oil pan and made a pickup tube so it will all go to the left side of the pan, and get picked up from there.
i'm not going through this crap again.
Imagine that.. #1 cyl.
Its just like a chevy V8 always eats up #7 rod bearings, no one really ever figured out why, they just do.

well i put in the new rod bearing a little while ago.....still knocks....and it doesnt seem like im gonna be getting my motor built any time soon...so i think im gonna just get another crank and throw in the car[&:]

it is the turbo motor and it lasted almost exactly 10,000 very hard miles

right now im looking at getting some JE pistons and some crane#14 cams....if i get those then i will order the rest of the bottom end stuff
