I don't think you need to replace them. I'd inspect the wiring first. Did you try to reset the PCM and see if the codes come back?
What is a PCM and how do i do this?

Its your neons computer...Powertrain Control Module. Pull the fuel pump fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) for about 5-10 minutes or disconnect the negative terminal on your battery for about 5-10 minutes.

Take some time and read thru the 1st Gen FAQ's up top. Good info in there.

yeah i hadn't noticed that FAQ's post, answered some of my questions. i have one last question though, our cars have 2 O2 sensors right? according to autozone i need to replace them since i'm getting 2 CEL codes for them. Do i really need to replace both? if not, how do i know which one is which? i don't want to spend money replacing things that already work.

No, you don't need to replace both of them. Try the key dance and pull your own codes and see if it throws a code for the O2 sensor. The "P" code is real specific about which one is bad.
