Hi all,

I just bought a 1995 Plymouth Neon for my GF and the stock stereo is completely dead. Apart from fuses and the unit itself, what should I check to see where the problem is?

Also, can the unit be swapped with a newer RBK / Mopar Chrysler unit without having to mod the harness?
A friend is selling a nice head unit from 2006 wrangler, and I am wondering if I can simply bolt that in. (yeah I know, wishful thinking).

Any idea what "Chrysler" units can be plugged right in to that 1.5DIN and harness?

the newer units deffintaelty wont work...
in about 2000-2001 chrysler changed alot of the plugs and stereo styles

Anyone knows of any OEM CD Player that would fit right in?

 

One of my 96 Neons came with a factory CD player. Its the only one I have ever seen, but I am sure there are others out there. But..............it is basically crap and I am going to replace it as soon as I can fund it.

Other will fit, but the mounting tabe are different. 95-99 first gen neons did come with the option for a CD player and are quite nice. I got one that I may part with. PM me for details.
