i dont know if its the same problem but once in a while ill be driving fine then i let off the gas completely. then i go to push down and its as if it is stuck so i have to give it a few taps with my foot. i dont know what would happen if i just pushed hard on it. i dont think this helps in any way but im here to let you know you're ot the only one
and i hope to get to the bottom of this too.

well theres no way to tell really where its happening. do you have cruise control? check your pedal area maybe your floor mat has cought the peddal. or under the hood check the throttle body. with car off remove cover and dissconnect cable and open it a few times and let it close on itself
i remember the older saturns dont know what make or model the peddal would stick when at idle (say at a stop light or something) and when you pressed it it would stick at first.
