srt-4 exhaust bolt on?
It doesn't just bolt on...you will need to cut some of it up and get some hangers made for it. It also sounds like crap on a N/A car. Get the Vibrant muffler if you want the dual look or a 2nd gen R/T muffler. Stay away from the Pacesetter muffler.
OK, I just noticed you asked about the manifold on back. The SRT-4 has a turbo exhaust manifold on it, but yes it will bolt up to the DOHC head, but then you would need all the other turbo stuff as well.
the manifold wont bolt to the sohc head.....but like said, you would then need the turbo.....if you have the turbo and 02 housing, then the srt-4 cat will mount up perfect even to the stock pipe....the srt-4 rear section is the most work to get to fit....you have to do a bit of cutting...then you have to make some custom hangers since the ones on the exhaust section are about 8 inches away from the stock hanger location on the car
I took the stock exhaust system off my SRT4 and put it on my 98 sohc. I had to get an exhaust manifold off of a 2nd gen magnum motor. The exhaust manifold off the 2nd genm magnum has the square, four bolt collector and it bolts up to the cat off the SRT. The only mod was where it goes over the rear suspension. It took two cuts and a new piece of pipe (about 10-12 inches long), and the two hangers on the dual tip section at the rear of the carhad to be moved.
I bought the manifold from the junkyard for 25 dollars and the exhaust work cost me 40 bucks. It sounds really nice, but tends to get raspy at about 5500 to 7200 rpm. But according to my dyno sheets I should be shifting at around 5800 to maximize torque anyway. It will have the signature back popping of the SRT on de-acceleration, but all in all it is a really good and inexpensiveupgrade. You can buy the turbo back exhaust from SRT owners for about 100 to 150 dollars. BTW the SRT cat flows like a high flow cat on a sohc n/a motor. My dyno sheet shows aboout a 7% gain for hp and torque after installing it.

Thats cool, I'll try to scan it in. You know I have to agree with alot of the people on this forum, you tend to be a bit of a doubting thomas, and touched with a bit of the know-it-all. I know that alot of people on here lie about their cars and the power that they make. I ain't one of them. The car made 121 hp and 120 lbs torque before the exhaust system and 129 hp and 130 lbs torque after. It is no power house by any means. It is what it is, a sohc neon with an iceman intake and a '95 cam (hand degreed in with a degree wheel), 8mm wires and a screamin demon coil pack, and four extra grounding points to the engine. It puts to the ground what a dohc does basically stock. Remember 7% of not much, ain't much, but it is still 7%. See I have no reason to lie to you. I don't want to date you, or have your children. Nor in any other way do I feel the need to impress you. Like proving 8 f-ing hp to you is my life long ambition. If my reply pisses you off and you feel the need to exercise your rightas a moderatorto ban me from dodgeforums, then so be it.I will try to go on with my normal life of actually messing with cars, hands on, and not spending the majority of my time on the net talking about it. It will be hard but I will try to survive. Truth be known, I probably have as much time in the automotive field as you have been alive. What are you25 years oldtops. Pull up your pampers and take a prozac. I mean damn man, relax! If something is really BS then call BS, but don't jump on everything that is said like a duck on a junebug. Who are you trying toconvinceof your knowledge? All of us or yourself?
But if you really want to be the forum sherriff, I will let you have some fun:
MY 98 NEON HAS TWOENGINES. ONE IS A SOHC AND THE OTHER IS A DOHC. THE DOHC IS IN THERE BECAUSE ONE AXLE IS LONGER THAT THE OTHER SO IT TAKES A LITTLE MORE HP TO TURN IT.
THE DOHC IS UNDER THE HOOD AND THE SOHC IS IN THE PASSENGERS SEAT I AM RUNNING HEMI CAMS IN BOTH MOTORSOUT OF THREE HEMI CHARGERS. ONE CHARGER WAS BLACK, ONE SILVER, AND ONE SUBLIME. THE CAM OUT OF THE SUBLIME ONE ADDS ABOUT 450 MORE HP.[8D] THEY RUN ON JET FUEL THAT I PURCHASE FROM THE AIRPORT AT .50 CENTS A GALLON, CAUSE I GOTS THE HOOK UP.[:-] I DYNO AT ABOUT 9000 HP WITH THE TORQUE OFF THE CHART. AND THAT IS JUST THE PULLING WHEEL CONSIDERING IT IS AN OPEN DIFF.[
] I ORDERED MY PHANTOM GRIP OFF EBAY AND THE GUY SAYS HE WILL SHIP IT WHEN HE GETS OUT OF JAIL.[>:] THE CAR RUNS A 2.3 SECOND QUARTER MILE AT A TRILLION MILE PER HOUR. THE SIXTY FOOT TIME IS SO FAST ITMAKES TIME MOVE BACKWARDS.[&:] ALL THIS IS WITHOUTSHOOTING MY 1700 HP SHOT OF "NAWS".
And that is no BULLSH*T, and I don't care what you say!!! And if you think that is something, just wait till I get my turbo!!!
If you still want to see a dyno sheet at 130whp I will see what I can do. Do you want the best time
9.97 et1/8 mile timeslip on street tires also?
Forums can be a great place to give and receive advise, but its people like you that make them suck![:@]

I just wanna see how it improved throughout power band...thats all!
I liked the idea of the Magnum exhaust manifold, cat and cat-back exhaust from the SRT-4, seeing as how I also have a SOHC neon. I wasn't trying to call BS on you...if I was, I would have used the BS smiley icon
.
BTW, I'm older than 25 [8D]
I like the idea of about 7HP for about $150-$200 total. Worth it to me.
