as long as you get zero detonation, your good. You should have somethin to monitor knock and all that good stuff.that broken ring land is what detonation does- too much boost on too low of octane and too much timing advance.thats actually a stockeagle talonpiston and rod but forged will do that too.
this can happen from running too lean...(picture below)im not tryin to scare you about haing a turbo, im just filling ya in on what will happen if you dont take care of it and tune it correctly. non turbo can run lean and detonate all day long with almost no effect, turbo will last one or 2 good pulls of that and come apart.
your already goin the right direction inside the engine, stick with it on the fuel and electronics stuff too.

yea its always fun tearing your engine apart and having to beat the piston out with a hammer.lol, after i see stuff like that i usually get an attitude and start throwing evrything in the scrap pile, good or not.

when i took the pistons out of the block...it just took 3 or 4 light taps....and they slid right out...the main bearing bolts are a completely different story though....ended up stripping one of them.....now i gotta go to the dealer and get another one[:@]
