Do You have to run premium when u use those computers or is it al right to run 87?
You should use premium or you could get pinging. Besides, no point in putting it on and not seeing the benefits.

To get the full potential, then yes. Won't hurt anything though. I did notice on my 99 DOHC that it ran more pep with 93 octane.

Not to totally change the subject but has anyone used MegaSquirt here? Im using it on my 2.5L V6 mazda engine right now and its pretty slick. You can use it just as a fuel and spark piggy back computer so you can alter timing and fuel maps but leave the rest of the stock ECU's control alone so all the important things like airbags orheater/AC fans still function as normal. Just wanted to throw that out there. Its very much a DIY management system, and its fairly intimidating at first but its well worth the effort. If Im going down the freeway and my air fuel level is around 13:1 I can open the laptop and bump a reading on the fuel map and I can lean it out instantly. Just wanted to share some knowledge for diehard tuners. You can build your own megasquirt for $175...FTW!!
