Ok.. Around 9am today, I'm going to replace my exhaust maniflod. So I need to know a few things first. How long shouldit take for a first timer to install the stock exhaust manifold?

Not real difficult and shouldn't take you too long. An hour or so, for your first time.

thanks. I'll get back on in a couple hours or so. Do you happen to know what tools I would need? And the procedure? I looked through the FAQS and searched for similar forums this morning but i got nothing. Thanks for the help das2123!

EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL
(1) Remove air cleaner assembly and bracket.
(2) Remove exhaust manifold heat shield.
(3) Disconnect upstream heated oxygen sensor connector.
(4) Remove exhaust pipe from manifold.
(5) Remove 8 exhaust manifold retaining fasteners and remove exhaust manifold.

hopefully you can help me out das2123...

Yesterday I spent ALL day attempting to remove the exhaust manifold. I gave up and put everything back together. Because for one, I couldn't remove the bolt that sits behind a bracket [connectened to the alternator]. And two, I've found out that there were two bolts missing while I was removing the exhaust manifold. I took a mirror and looked where the two bolts should be and looks like they broke off leaving "studs" in the "holes". the only way I know how to fix that is by extracting the "studs". Problem, I didn't even have ANY extracting tools/"bits".

All I got out of it was bruises haha

can you help me out with maybe a broken down step-by-step procedure?

Some people just remove the alternator bracket. You don't need any special tools....sockets and wrenches work fine.

For the broken bolts, drill a hole in them and then use an easy out.
