Default I searched...can't find a straight answer

riding home from the girlfriends house i see my engine light has clicked on...once i got home i checked it and got a code 32...EGR sys failure..how the heck do i fix this without paying for the ridiculously priced oem replacement? and would this be causing sucky gas mileage?

im gettin that same code and my car is still running fine....maybe you can try cleaning it out real good and reinstalling it...what was the price they quoted you?

ffs 74 dollars....if i wasn't broke right now i would have paid to have it fixed quick...how do i go about getting the thing apart and cleaning it...i have seen WHAT to clean it with...just not how to get the darn thing off

You will need some long extensions to get it off. You can try cleaning it, but its usually the transducer that goes bad on it. It's replaced along with the EGR valve and sold together.

yea that thing is kinda hidden under a whole bunch of other ****.....still figuring how im gonna get mine off.....when i got mine checked out, all it said was my egr is getting insufficent flow, and my throttle position sensor is bad.....hey Das can that affect the performance of your car?

TPS being bad will affect performance. EGR can affect gas milage.

it doesnt effect it that bad, so its not really a big issue unless its stuck open.

where i "think" i saw the egr system was on the passenger side of the engine just about under all the A/C and PS fluid carrying tubes and seemed to have a bit of rust...i really hate to take this to a stealership

EGR valve is on the drivers side of the engine, behind your heater lines
