That's what I'm thinking. But I can't get the gauge cluster out. I don't know what's holding it in, but it's not coming out. I had tried a while back and couldn't get it out even after removing the speedo cable.

I can't see the screws. lol
I can't get it far enough out to get to any screws on the backside. All the screws on the front side have been taken out and the speedo cable removed. I think there is a wire harness that is bolted to the cluster that I can't get to.

Well, it has begun... these were paint cracks and what looked like scale rust.
Now I'm finding that it was bondo put in years ago to hide some tiny dents.

I breathed a major sign of relief when it was just bondo I found under all this stuff. Makes me feel a little better about the other paint cracks in the truck.

1st coat of primer

Got the 2nd coat of primer on it now. Yes I know it looks like shiat. I don't care, the main goal was to get rid of the bad bondo/rust on the sheet metal.

The last coat of paint, hadn't wet sanded the overspray off yet.

Tape bled a bit. Damnit. That's what I get for not re-masking. And there is a bit of over shoot, hand twitched. Oops. lol

Entire right side of the truck wetsanded

Are you doing body work before you reshoot it, or just getting rid of the cracked bondo?

Just trying to get rid of the cracked bondo for right now.
It needs body work. Fairly bad, but I want to get rid of the rust before delving into all that mess. It will likely be painted black before the bondo gets done simply because I will have already painted so much of the truck. lol

I have most of the driver's fender to do, it's got some really bad bondo and a lot of it.
