Just off the top of my head bigger secondaires should mean a larger camed motor, more hp or maybe an industrial motor. Need to run that carb number down and see what version 440 it was primarily used on.

It was the primaries that were larger I think...the secondaries were the same size unless you had the Comp carb.

Mostly me.

But it's my thread.

And I've only got 10 pages. You need to adjust your forum view.

Attempted to look for the engine ID plate. Couldn't find it. Looked all over the place, cleaned the crap out of the area it was supposed to be in with brake cleaner, and when that ran out, TB cleaner. Can't find anything.

So I ended up cleaning most of the engine bay and part of the block on the underside.

First a picture of the dizzy and the area it's supposed to be in:

What's this?

I had to do a lot of this with brake cleaner....

i don't know what to say. i don't know what the numbers on the distributor tag mean. i don't think they are that important. i think your vacuum advance parts might be seized since can't get them to move when you apply vacuum to it.

I didn't think they were. Figured it was just a factory serial number. They're everywhere on this truck. Quite literally every panel has a SN on it.

I was also starting to think the vacuum advance was frozen up. Any ideas on how to unstick it? It's not blown out, as I can suck on it and there is nothing coming through.

I might be able to get a better picture of the dizzy tomorrow.

hard to say the best way to get it unstuck. i guess you could spray it with penetrating oil.
