Default external voltage regulator

I have a 1992 Ram 150 with 5.4 EFI. Charging circuit went bad in PCM, all kind of stuff went wacky. I took my alternator to a rebuild shop, gentleman put in an internal regulator, everything working fine now except except engine light stay on all the time. Haven't found anyone who can guide me as to how to remedy this or found any wiring diagrams for the particular fix I'm living with. Should I be concerned even though haven't found any other issues? Thanks

Check codes, if it's just the charging system the PCM is complaining about, don't worry about it. I do believe there IS a fix for that though, not sure what it is.... might be as simple as leaving the PCM hooked up to the alternator... not like it is controlling anything.
