Rattled a bit at initial startup, but, given how long its been that is not a surprise. Seems to have quieted down once oil pressure came up though? And ran pretty smooth at that. Wow.
Just did the math, last time it was moved under its own power, we bought a new battery. It was 2005. So 19 years! And if I could get my videos to load. IT JUST STARTED FIRST TRY!!
Gotta love the Mopar electronic ignition. They offered it as an option in 1972 and it solved so many issues it became standard in '73. I've worked on Ford and GM systems, even the transistorized ignition GM used in the 1960's and none are as good as the plain old Mopar unit.
I tried to watch your video but all I got was a notice I need to update my system. As for no smoke, if you've got good oil pressure then you have a solid engine.

Maybe you can tell me why do people constantly want to put GM HEI ignitions in mopars? It perplexes me! If you are going to spend money to "upgrade" get a MSD6A. The only reason i can think of is less wires.

I had an MSD5A on my 88 forumla. It was great, until it quit working......
Anybody have any idea why there would be black rtv on the top of the fuel sending unit on the tank? Should I just chip it out and re seal since its cracked? Also, what's the best way to take that out, just large channel locks? Need to dry the tank properly before I put back in the truck. Or is there a way without removing the sending unit?
