Mocked up my spindles and springs today and wouldn't you know it Chassis Tech sent me the wrong springs. The springs are 3.5" to long so they actually raised my truck even with the drop spindles. Once I get that figured out I will start documenting with pictures and post them on here to help everyone else.

Finally got my spindles in today. Which way are you going on the tie rod ends?

I am probably going to go in from the bottom I know that it might mess with the bump steer but I have seen it done and the angle don't look that bad.

Are the tie-rod holes on the spindle tapered one way, or are they even, like a tube. Just wondering, I've seen them mounted from the top. Would that mean they had to be machined out in the opposite direction?

What about the different size holes? Come up with an end that'll fit? Another reason I was wanting to do the rack install. I'd like to duplicate the Dak's factory angles, and just use Dak rod ends. Lots of extra work though.

The Dak spindles that have the tie rod in from the top have been machined. The spindles are tapered from the bottom. As for what tie rod will fit the spindle without machining and will thread into our tubes I have read that tie rods from a 79 B-100 van will fit or so I have read I have yett to try it so I can't promise anything.

Why not machine them to fit stock tie rods from the top?

Yeah I read that too. My old truck alreadyskitters around on bumps and such, would be nice to correct it. I have all the factory P.S. stuff off of the derelict '88. Would save alot of B.S. to just go that route if the tie rod angles don't cause the same bumpsteer it already has. Everybody says they drive fine though. Alot of what I'm feeling in the strg.wheel is because of the manual box, and no sway bar induced body roll. The shorter steering arms would make it harder to turn at low speeds with the manual. It's already a workout in a parking lot.

The springs are 3.5 inches longer than stk? And it's supposed to be the spindles? Now how the hell do they figure that one?
