Haven't checked it myself, but have read a post that says to use the bigger '83-'93. Surely between all of us we can come up with something that'll work like it should, and the main thing, safely.

I am going to be ordering my spindles and springs tomorrow so when you figure out a good way to mount the tie rods be sure to post it. If I find a good method I will do the same. Has anyone researched the differences in the bearing sizes 72-83 is supposed to have one size bearing and 83-93 is suposed to be different.
Yes, if you read through the thread on ramchargercentral, I believe that if you are going to use the dakot adrop spindles on a older first gen ram that you need to mill it for the 72-83 bearings. It just seems like it would make more sense to get the newer hardware and not screw wiht it more than necessary.

Yeah, I heard that there is a bearing difference too. Apparently if you are putting the spindles on a pre 83 ram, you either need to do some machining to get the bearing to fit, or you can switch to a 84* and up hub. The swap would be much easier and cost effective, but will give you a different bolt pattern (5x5.5)
*I dont know if 84 is the year change.

Got '83 rotors on my '84, and they're 4 3/4. Got the wheels off the '83 on all four corners. The '83 was my previous hot rod till it got hit in the front. It lives on as a 3/4 ton after a frame swap from a '73!
