I'd say you got a good deal. I paid $400 for my '81 W150. It ran but needed tires and about $500 worth of misc stuff. Has a heavy duty flatbed with 5th wheel hitch and heavy rear springs...but the cab is shot from being laid on its side. I'm buying a parts truck for $200 and will swap the body over. Sounds like you got a better truck than I did.

If its an 8 lug with Dana 60s front and rear you really got a good deal!!! Either way you did not go wrong for 300 bucks!! Floor pans are easy to fix, you can go the replacement route or cut the rot out and patch it with a piece of galvanized shaped and riveted in......just be sure to put some sealer around the seam to keep water out, if you have a rubber mat or carpet no one will ever see the repair anyway..........the replacement is a bit more involved with some welding
