crankshaft positon sensor for a 4 spd.
i converted my truck from an automatic to a 4spd. i am having trouble finding out what i need to do about the crankshaft postion sensor. the one i have bought from the dodge dealership doesent fit..i dont know what the sensor senses on the flywheel. i know on the flexplate it senses the outer ring with the holes that are drilled out...can anyone tell me what i have to do to complete the conversion?

the bellhousing came out of an 1986 ramcharger with a 318..i know the newer style came with a notch in it for the sensor but i was just going to cut it out of the bellhousing.
i picked up a new sensor today from autozone..it looks different then the one i got from the dodge dealership..so hopefully this one will work...if it doesent work..how hard is it to convert it to a carbureted motor??? or could i just put the cranshaft sensorin the front of the motor??
