A friend of mine has a 383 in one of his Chevy S-10's and claims to have 385 horsepower and there is not much done to it except spark plugs, and exhaust. Is he lieing?

if your talking about the 383 Magnum from the Road Runner then yea its probably close to that. I think it is 325-350 stock, plus if that badboy had the dual 4bbl carbs then yea he could be telling the truth. But it likely has more to do with the dual carbs which I dont know if he has.

anyhow, it at least low/mid 300s which i plenty for an S-10.

ps moparengine in chev? yuck.

I think it is a chevy stroker 383.
